Staying active to improve overall, the Miami Dolphins picked up some defensive help on Friday. The Dolphins altered their defensive front line Friday, with the acquisition of edge rusher Jamree Kromah off waivers from the Chicago Bears. To create a spot on the active 53-man roster, the team waived defensive end Rob Beal Jr.
Kromah joins the Dolphins after appearing in two games for Chicago this season. He had two total tackles (one solo). The 6-foot-3, 268-pound defender originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024 out of James Madison University, where he previously racked up 13 sacks and 28.5 tackles for loss over his collegiate career.
Beal, a former fifth-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2023, departs after appearing in 27 career games. The Georgia product won two national championships in college but was deemed expendable as Miami explores fresh depth to complement rookie edge rusher Chop Robinson.
The front office also adjusted its practice squad by adding guard DJ Campbell and releasing tackle Gottlieb Ayedze. Head coach Jeff Hafley indicated that keeping the back end of the roster competitive remains vital.
Head coach Jeff Hafley discussed his ongoing roster evaluations alongside general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, emphasizing a deep appreciation for the team’s collective effort. “I love this team, I love the guys that we have,” Hafley said.
