This day and age in college football is the wildest we have ever seen, and the Florida State Seminoles may know that more than any other program right now.
Whether it be the former playoff formt and comittee that ended up screwing over the Noles, or NIL, which has changed the game more than ever, or even the tranfser portal, where now it feels like players arre never at one school for more than a year or two. That's the new college football world, and the Noles, like everyone else, have to adapt to that.
With how bad they were in 2024, winning just two games, there is going to be some of that unknown with the portal for the Noles. That's just part of it. But with one player they just got, the transfer portal and the whole "flipping" thing on signing day may not be an option.
The Noles just landed one of the best CBs in the country this week in Chauncey Kennon, and he won't be flipping, or if he does, it would make things extremely awkward.
Kennon is a four-star cornerback from Booker High School in Sarasota, Florida, and is one of the biggest gets the Seminoles have had this summer, and a guy that can really play in the defensive backfield.
As a junior, Kennon recorded 33 tackles, 16 pass breakups, one interception, and a forced fumble on defense, while also adding 10 catches for 317 yards and six touchdowns as a wide receiver. He can really do it all, and he's just getting started in his development. The elite CB will be coached by Patrick Surtain Sr., who played in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs, and even had an All-Pro season. His son, Pat Surtain II, was just the Defensive Player of the Year for the Denver Broncos.

Recently, Kennon just showed off his new tattoo, which featured a Seminoles logo.
He's already showing where his loyalty lies, so being with Surtain Sr. for three, maybe even four years, is something that could really turn him into a special player.
