Full 7-Round Mock Draft 2.0 – Post Combine Edition
Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

Two weeks ago, I released my Mock Draft 1.0. Since then, the NFL Scouting Combine has concluded, and it is now time for my 2.0 Post-Combine Mock Draft.

With the combine in the rearview mirror, many players have increased their draft stock, and others are going to take a bit of a tumble with less-than-great 40 times, shorter arms than expected, and so on.

I have many differences between my 1.0 mock and my 2.0 mock, but the pick at #11 is staying the same.

Without any further ado, here is my Mock Draft 2.0

Round 1, Pick #11: Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio St

I am sticking with Sonny Styles here as I think he will be on the draft board at the eleventh pick still. Yes, he was fantastic at the combine, but here’s my logic. In the Top 10, I see one QB, two OT, one RB, three Edge Rushers, two WR, and a safety. That is 1o players right there who are not Sonny Styles. I think Styles will be on the board for Miami at Pick #11, and I think he checks every box that Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley want in a player. Plus it fills a need for the Dolphins

The one-time safety who moved to linebacker can do it all. He is your prototypical do-it-all lilnebacker in this modern NFL who never has to leave the field. He can play downhill in the box, is an outstanding blitzer, a fundamentally sound tackler, and he can drop into coverage on all tight ends, and even drop into deep coverage if need be vs slot wide receivers. A great linebacker, and putting him next to Jordyn Brooks will let those two roam and just wreak havoc on the field.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio St

Round 2, Pick #43: Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee

In both of the mocks, Miami passes on a cornerback in Round 1 because this is such a deep draft at that position. They play the position scarcity game and go with another position in Round 1, and get a quality cornerback in Round 2, and Hood is that guy.

Hood is the cornerback who looks like he was built in a lab. 6’0″, 31 3/8 inch arms, he checks every box from a physical standpoint, and he ran a 4.44 40-yard dash at the combine. He is a press-man cornerback who can also play zone if need be. He attacks the ball at its high point on deep passes, isn’t afraid to play the run, and has the mindset of a safety in his run defense. He has the size and speed you want in a cornerback and has gone up against the top wide receivers in the nation, playing in the SEC. Landing Hood in round 2 is a steal, as he may be a day one starter for Miami.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – R. Mason Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma

Round 3, Pick #75: Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn St

Sutton is a 4-3 defensive end who is not good vs the run; he is great vs the run. He isn’t your prototypical DE/EDGE where he will get after the quarterback over and over again, but he will hold the point of attack, stop the run, and open things up for other pass rushers to get to the quarterback.  He has heavy hands and plays aggressively with a lot of force. Want to change the Dolphins’ soft label? Add a player like this to your front seven.

He ran a 4.63 at the combine and is athletic, but again, not a pass rusher who will rack up a lot of sacks. He is an intense player who wins with strength over speed.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – Davison Igbinosun, CB, Ohio St

Round 3, Pick #87: Skyler Bell, WR UCONN

Jon-Eric Sullivan said he wants some taller WR’s, and no more of the 5’9″ guys. Enter Skyler Bell out of UCONN. Not that Bell is the tallest guy in the world, but at 6’0″, he provides more height than Miami currently has in the room.

Bell can play the boundary and the slot at a high level, and with no great quarterback play at UCONN, he was still one of the most productive wide receivers in all of college football. Yes, ALL of college football. He is a YAC machine and has that 4.4 speed that you want in a wide receiver. Bell checks a lot of boxes and would be an immediate WR2 for Miami in 2026 with all that he brings to the table. The fact that he can take short passes and make them long gains, with Miami’s questionable quarterback situation possibly in the next season or two is a big plus.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – Malik Muhammad, CB, Texas

Round 3, Pick #90: Gennings Dunker, OT/G, Iowa

The Dolphins need to get stronger and more physical up front on the offensive line, and Dunker will help with that. He was an OT in college, but because he isn’t the most athletic guy you will find, he projects to be a guard in the NFL. The fact that he does have that experience at OT, though, is nice to have in your back pocket in case of an emergency.

What Dunker brings to the table, though, is a pro-ready frame, heavy hands, raw power, and the strength to move other large human beings. With Miami moving on from James Daniels, they will need to find a starting guard to take his place. Dunker may be a guy who sees the field early in his career, if not day 1, because of all of his experience at Iowa.

He’s big.

He’s strong.

He’s everything the Dolphins haven’t had on their offensive line in years, and what they need to add to their offensive line.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – Antonio Williams, WR, Clemson

Round 4, Pick #111: Drew Allar, QB, Penn St

The Drew Allar story is an interesting one. Entering college, he had a ton of hype on him, and he did live up to it for the most part. But when Penn St played in big games, at times he came up small, but some don’t pin that all on him, as his supporting cast at wide receiver wasn’t ever all that good. In fact, it was horrible.

If you were building a quarterback with AI or in a lab, this is the quarterback that would be the finished product. 6’5″, strong arm, huge hands the size of oven mitts, he has all of the physical tools. Now he has to work on ball placement, and every pass can’t be a fast-ball, so he has to learn to throw with some touch, but the god-given stuff is there; he just needs some fine-tuning. And I, like many others, feel that if you put him with some very good wide receivers, he will excel, as he didn’t have that luxury at Penn St.

Allar did miss the second half of last season with an ankle injury, but should be ready to go for the 2026 season. This is a pick here in Round 4 where you will want to bring him along slowly, because if the few things he struggles with, he improves on, there is a chance he can be a special player. So, you won’t want to rush him on the field and get shell-shocked.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – Austin Barber, OT, Florida

Round 5, Pick #149: Tanner Koziol, TE, Houston

With Jon-Eric Sullivan saying Darren Waller doesn’t have a future in Miami, and Greg Dulcich being a free agent, his return to Miami is no sure thing. The Dolphins need a pass-catching tight end. And Tanner Koziol is someone who can help in the passing game.

At just under 6’7″ tall and with soft hands, Koziol is a huge target for any quarterback. He doesn’t have great speed, he doesn’t have a lot of variety with his route running, and he isn’t much in pass protection or with his run blocking. But that isn’t why you have Koziol on your roster. He is a red zone target and someone you play on passing downs. He will never be a TE1, but on passing downs and in the red zone he coudl carve out a nice role for himself in the NFL for many years.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – Taylen Green, QB, Arkansas

Round 7, Pick #228: TJ Hall, CB, Iowa

The Dolphins’ secondary is a mess, and while adding Colton Hood in Round 2 of this draft is a great start, they need more than one piece from this draft for the secondary.

At 6’1″ tall, Hall is more quick than fast. He ran a 4.59 at the combine, but with pads on, he does play fast. He will be a nickel corner in the NFL, not someone on the boundary, but he may see the field early in his career as a nickel corner. He has to learn to turn his head to locate the football, as he does face-guard a lot, but that is coachable and something he can correct in time.

Previous Pick in Mock 1.0 – Dan Villari, TE, Syracuse
