What an incredible turn of events for the Philadelphia Eagles who might have made one of the best trades in franchise history performed a train robbery on the Tennessee Titans.

Back in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Eagles executed a trade for wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Titans in exchange for a first-round pick and a third-round pick. Tennessee used that pick to select Brown's replacement, wide receiver Treylon Burks.

A development in the trade just occurred where the Titans announced the release of Burks just two days after he broke his collarbone in training camp. The Titans now have to live with a mistake, while the Eagles appear to have made a genius move thanks to general manager Howie Roseman's decision.

Breaking down the Eagles-Titans Brown deal and how it turned out

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter shared an image from the 33rd Team that shows what all came with the deals and which players were included.

Comparing Brown and Burks' stats almost seems unfair. It's completed lopsided with Brown having a massive advantage over Burks.

Burks was never able to stay healthy and just wasn't consistent enough on the field. It doesn't help that he didn't have the best quarterbacks throwing him the ball and joined the team at a time when they were transitioning to keystone roster players on offense like Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, Brown, and DeAndre Hopkins.

The Eagles were arguably transformed by the trade, as quarterback Jalen Hurts had a reliable number one receiver and has been arguably one of the top five pass catchers in the NFL. Brown elevated the Eagles' offense to elite status, as he possesses a rare ability to catch jump balls while beating defenders deep down the field with his speed.

Remarkably, the Eagles' third-round pick to the Titans was used as part of another trade with the New York Jets to pick Roger McCreary, Nicholas Petit-Frere , and Kyle Philips. McCreary is the only player remaining on the Titans from those three.

Roseman used his magic again to get a player who has been considered potentially the greatest receiver in franchise history. It wasn't a risk for Roseman as he picked proven talent over potential. It's a remarkable trade that is going to be examined for a long time.

Titans fans are suffering with the news, but Eagles fans can't help but sit back and appreciate what Roseman did to make this roster better.
