There is simply no doubt that Minkah Fitzpatrick has been a top performer at every level. He was a five-star safety recruit out of high school in New Jersey. He won two national championships during his All-American college career with Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide. He was the Miami Dolphins' first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft before achieving a trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers the following year -- more on that in a moment!
Since then, all he's done is make five Pro Bowls and three All-Pro first teams. On top of it all, he's due to surpass $100 million in career earnings by the time he's barely 30 years old.
It's almost as if the Alabama stud's career path was preordained from on high. But on June 30, even divine intervention couldn't preclude the unlikeliest of NFL reunions.
As first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the prodigal safety is returning to where it all started -- the Miami Dolphins -- in blockbuster fashion.
Let's run through the full details of the Fins' Minkah Fitzpatrick trade, including a special appearance by fellow All-Pro defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
