Adam Schefter has reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers are actively trying to add a Wide Receiver. The offense needs another elite weapon to strike fear into opposing defenses. Luckily for them, there is a surplus of pass catchers that could be available ahead of the 2025 NFL Trade Deadline, and it’s time for General Manager Omar Khan to take a shot on one. Get Aaron Rodgers a shiny new toy. He’s earned it.

5. Rashid Shaheed

Rashid Shaheed would be an intriguing addition for the Steelers. His speed and ability to stretch the field would open up the field for Aaron Rodgers. This season, he has played six games for the New Orleans Saints and caught 26 passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 52.7 yards per game. Shaheed also returns punts for the Saints, and Mike Tomlin loves players with special teams versatility.

4. DJ Moore

DJ Moore has had an odd season in Chicago. Rome Odunze has become the go-to weapon for Caleb Williams, leaving Moore in the dark at times. In five games, he has caught 19 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown. Those numbers aren’t bad, but Moore’s skill set allows him to bring more to a team. The Steelers could benefit from having him as DK Metcalf’s sidekick. Bring the Pennsylvania native back to his home state.

3. Jakobi Meyers

Jakobi Meyers requested a trade a few weeks ago, but the situation has gone radio silent since then. Somebody needs to break that man out of Las Vegas. Playing with Geno Smith isn’t good for anyone’s mental health. Meyers has caught 29 passes for 329 yards this season, but he hasn’t scored a touchdown yet. He would be the perfect WR2 for Rodgers and the Steelers. His contract situation could make things tough, but that can get ironed out.

2. Chris Olave

Chris Olave is a great receiver, but he hasn’t had a chance to spread his wings in New Orleans. He’s been stuck with terrible quarterback play for his entire four-year career. He’s one headshot away from speaking in clicks thanks to Derek Carr’s hospital balls. In six games this season, Olave has 342 yards and one touchdown on 39 receptions. A fresh start is what Olave needs.

1. AJ Brown

Getting AJ Brown to Pittsburgh is a tad unrealistic, but it could take the Steelers to the next level in the AFC. Brown is regarded as one of the best pass catchers in football. He’s coming off of a Super Bowl win with the Philadelphia Eagles, but his relationship with Jalen Hurts seems stale. He’s caught 25 passes for 274 yards and one touchdown this season, but Hurts has missed him on multiple occasions. Bring him to Pittsburgh and reunite him with Arthur Smith and DK Metcalf.

End Of My Steelers Rant

Those are the best options for the Steelers if they want to add a big-name receiver before the 2025 NFL Trade Deadline. It’s more realistic that they add a player like Allen Lazard, Brandin Cooks, or Adonai Mitchell, but there are options for them if they want to shoot for the stars. This year’s NFL trade deadline is loaded with receivers who are likely to relocate, and the Steelers need to pounce on one.
