Garrett Wilson received a four-year, $130 million contract extension with $90 million guaranteed to keep him on the Jets for the next six seasons. He is reunited with his college quarterback, Justin Fields, this season. What is Garrett Wilson’s fantasy football outlook in 2025?

Fantasy Football Outlook for Garrett Wilson

Recent Production

Wilson has three straight seasons of at least 1000 receiving yards to begin his NFL career. He had only seven total touchdowns in his first two seasons, before catching seven last year. This led to Wilson’s best career fantasy finish, as he finished as the WR10 in PPR leagues. In his first two years, he was the WR21 and WR26, respectively. He has played in every game of his career so far.

Wilson had a great start to 2024, but his production took a hit after the Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target, Davante Adams. Adams was dominating the target share, and Wilson was the WR2 on the team at the end of the year. Adams left to join the Rams in free agency, which will give Wilson the WR1 role.

2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

As mentioned earlier, Wilson and Fields played together for two seasons at Ohio State University in 2019 and 2020, so there is familiarity between the two.

With Adams leaving in free agency, there is almost no target competition for Wilson. The Jets signed Josh Reynolds to join Allen Lazard and Malachi Corley. They also drafted Arian Smith and tight end Mason Taylor, who should be their starting tight end. Wilson should be in line for a massive target share.

The Jets will probably be a run-first team in 2025. They have three running backs they love using, including Breece Hall, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis. Of course, Fields is one of the best rushing quarterbacks in the league.

Wilson ADP

According to FantasyPros, Wilson is being drafted as the WR14 in PPR leagues in fantasy football drafts. He is around the 25th player overall, meaning he is going in the early to middle third round of drafts. The wide receivers being drafted just ahead of him are Ladd McConkey, Rashee Rice , and Tyreek Hill. Those going right below him are Tee Higgins, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Davante Adams. This seems to be a reasonably priced place for Wilson.

Should You Draft or Pass on Garrett Wilson in 2025 Fantasy Football?

I am being cautious while drafting Wilson this season in fantasy football. I am not willing to reach for Wilson, but if he falls, I will happily draft him. Wilson is in line for a massive target share, and the Jets offense should be much better in 2025 with a mobile quarterback. Paying Wilson after just three seasons means that the Jets have a lot of faith in him. They will find ways to get him the ball a lot in this offense. Finishing as a low-end WR1 to a high-end WR2 is the right expectation for Wilson in fantasy football 2025.
