Gerald McCoy has received plenty of interest on the open market now that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released him, and the defensive tackle says he is feeling like a new man heading into 2019 after adopting a new dietary lifestyle.
McCoy told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that he feels reinvigorated by going vegan.
Source says #Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens had plans for dinner with free agent DT Gerald McCoy last night. As I also mentioned on NFL Live yesterday, McCoy told me over the phone, he feels reinvigorated physically by his vegan lifestyle.

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times also mentioned McCoy’s vegan diet after the veteran was released by the Bucs, noting that McCoy has slimmed down and says the swelling in his knees has decreased. Whatever McCoy is doing, teams obviously don’t have concerns about it. There were as many as 10 teams said to be interested in him at one point, and Stroud reports that the 31-year-old has received some offers as high as $11 million per year.
Gerald McCoy has been overwhelmed by the amount of interest he’s received. Ten teams are involved with offers as high as $11-million per year. Glazers could’ve dragged this process out but his release by the Bucs is appreciated by McCoy. He will visit the Browns Fri.

McCoy is not the first NFL player to adopt a vegan lifestyle, though there seems to always be some level of concern associated with it. If the offers McCoy is receiving are any indication, he must be staying in plenty good shape without consuming animal products.
