Giants Add Defensive Line Depth to Ailing Unit

The move likely serves as insurance due to defensive lineman Dexter Lawerence's hamstring injury. Lawrence, who missed his first career game in Week 12 because of the strain, has been on a pitch count the last two weeks after practicing on a limited basis.

Lawrence was held out of the Giants' Wednesday practice as he continues to get treatment for his ailing hamstring. A'Shawn Robinson (hamstring and finger) and Rakeem Nunez-Roches (unknown) were also held out of Wednesday's practice.

Horne, 6-foot-4 and 323 pounds, is a nose tackle who played his college ball at Charlotte from 2016 to 2020 and Kansas State (2021). He was signed as an undrafted free agent by Atlanta following the 2022 draft and initially made the Falcons' 53-man roster after training camp.

This year, Horne could not retain his roster spot, instead landing on the Falcons' practice squad coming out of camp.

Horne has appeared in 20 games for the Falcons with five starts. He's recorded 31 tackles, 13 solo, and one quarterback hit.

In college, Horne recorded 119 total tackles (60 solo) and 165 tackles for loss, along with four sacks.
