Giants Add WR Dylan Drummond to Practice Squad
Lon Horwedel-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants made a minor tweak to their practice squad, adding receiver Dylan Drummond and terminating the contract of outside linebacker Oshane Ximines.

Drummond was initially signed as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Michigan by the Lions earlier this year. He caught nine passes for 87 yards in the preseason, working primarily out of the slot, and had one kickoff return for 19 yards.

Drummond, 6-foot and 186 pounds appeared in one regular-season game for the Lions, on October 8, 2023, against the Panthers, but did not log any offensive statistics. He was released Wednesday to make room for receiver Tom Kennedy, and the Giants, who saw Drummond up close during their training camp practices with the Lions, moved to bring him in.

Ximines, 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds was the Giants' third-round pick (No. 95 overall) in 2019 out of Old Dominion. After a promising rookie campaign in which he appeared in all 16 games and recorded 25 tackles and 4.5 sacks, he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury the following season.

He also missed part of training camp in 2021 due to a hamstring issue.

Ximines, who after the draft was re-signed by the team this past off-season, came close to replicating his rookie campaign, appearing in 15 games and recording 24 tackles with 2.0 sacks, but this past summer, he was unable to get on track and landed on the Giants practice squad. Ximines appeared in three games for the Giants, logging just four tackles.
