The New York Giants have edge rusher Brian Burns available for their Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Burns sustained a low ankle sprain on the Giants’ final defensive drive in their 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. Though ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported he would “miss time” due to the injury, Burns was active for the game against Tennessee.

Fans were stressed out about the number of injuries the Giants endured in Los Angeles, but they left Los Angeles in better injury shape than was initially thought, even though quarterback Jaxson Dart sustained a regular-season-ending torn MCL and meniscus.

Wide receiver Malik Nabers (shoulder) and left tackle Andrew Thomas (groin) were both off the team’s final injury report, and Burns was active ahead of the Giants’ second home game.

Quarterback Jameis Winston started in Dart’s place, with Jake Haener as the backup quarterback. The Giants did not have an emergency No. 3 quarterback available.

Defensive lineman Darius Alexander was active after missing the Giants’ game in Los Angeles, and he took over for Josh Tupou, who was a healthy scratch.

Giants Inactives for Week 3

Cornerback Deonte Banks and safety Tyler Nubin were both inactive due to calf injuries. Banks missed his second straight game with the calf ailment and was replaced by rookie Colton Hood, who made his second consecutive start.

Nubin sustained the calf injury Monday night and was listed as questionable. But he was out, and safety Jason Pinnock was available and started in his place.

Running back Devin Singletary was a surprise inactive for Week 3. He has nine carries for 25 yards, the second-most rushing yards among Giants running backs behind starter Cam Skattebo. Najee Harris and Tyrone Tracy Jr. both were active and were backups to Skattebo.

For the Titans, running backs Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard were both active. But former Jets running back Michael Carter was inactive.
