Giants could still pursue reunion with Odell Beckham Jr.

It appears New York Giants fans can keep dreaming about a possible reunion with free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason.

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Giants co-owner John Mara told reporters on Monday that the club has not "closed the door on" re-signing Beckham this spring.

Mara added that "he’s in favor of signing" Beckham as long as general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll believe the 30-year-old is a good fit.

Beckham entered the NFL when the Giants made him a first-round pick during the 2014 draft, and he earned Pro Bowl nods across his first three seasons.

Then-Giants general manager Dave Gettleman controversially traded OBJ to the Cleveland Browns in March 2019, and Beckham most recently didn't play a single down of meaningful football this past season as he recovered from the torn ACL he suffered during Super Bowl LVI in February 2022.

As Kevin Patra of the NFL's website explained, the Giants welcomed Beckham for a visit in early December. Earlier this month, Big Blue representatives were among the individuals who attended a workout completed by Beckham.

On March 16, ESPN's Jordan Raanan tweeted that the Giants re-signing Darius Slayton and adding Parris Campbell meant the club "will not be players for" Beckham, in part because "he is/was out of their price range." Beckham has since taken to Twitter to deny he's looking to earn $20M a season via his next contract, but it's unclear how much cash he wants from any club.

Beckham has repeatedly been linked in stories with the New York Jets, largely because to-be Gang Green quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly wants to have OBJ as a weapon. It's unknown if Mara is willing to get into a bidding war to win Beckham's services, but it seems the co-owner thinks the former Giant could again be a key contributor to the club as soon as this fall.
