Giants Duo Among NFL’s Best Trade Targets Before Week 5

The New York Giants are trying to forge a new era, meaning veteran passer Russell Wilson and edge-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux might be expendable. On Monday, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox listed the pair among 10 players who could be shipped out soon.

“Sunday’s win may be enough to prevent the Giants from going into fire-sale mode, but it shouldn’t prevent them from shopping three-week starter Russell Wilson,” Knox wrote, adding that Wilson’s projected trade value is a conditional 2026 fifth-round draft pick. “Teams that already have injuries at quarterback — or are simply experiencing poor play at the position — should be interested in Wilson at a modest price.”

Meanwhile, Knox feels Big Blue should be willing to wave Thibodeaux in front of other teams in order to find a receiver to replace Malik Nabers, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 4. The Giants, Knox argued, already have their top pass-rushers in Brian Burns and rookie Abdul Carter.

“Now would be the perfect time to try getting a return for Thibodeaux, who has 2.5 sacks through four games,” Knox said. “He is set to play on the fifth-year option in 2026, and the Giants could use another pass-catcher to help support (rookie quarterback Jaxson) Dart. New York could expect a reasonable return for a 24-year-old pass-rusher with one-and-a-half years left on a rookie contract.”

Knox believes Thibodeaux, the No. 5 overall choice in the 2022 NFL Draft, would be worth a starting-caliber wideout and/or a 2026 second-rounder. Knox feels the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers should enter the picture. The Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns should be looking at Wilson, Knox said.
