Giants investigating photos of maskless players at NYC bar

Photos surfaced of New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley at a Manhattan bar without masks on Friday night, and now the organization reportedly is looking into the situation, according to Greg Joyce of the New York Post.

Jones, Barkley and other Giants players reportedly had dinner in a private room at a Manhattan restaurant. After dinner, they were invited to a bar that was closed to the general public, which would explain why they were maskless. The video of the players and photos were uploaded to Instagram by DJ Lugghead, who was driving the players around.

Lugghead initially told The Post that the photos were from October of 2019 and not Friday night, Joyce says.

“It was all posts from last year,” the DJ said in a phone interview Saturday. “It’s a memory that popped up from a year ago. That’s why I posted it.”

Lugghead also posted a video of Jones taking a sip of a drink handed to him by an unidentified woman and Barkley riding a bike in the street. The latter is set to undergo ACL surgery next week.

The Post says the Giants did not immediately return a request for comment, but stated they are looking into the matter. Players can be fined for conduct detrimental if they are found guilty of violating the league's coronavirus protocols.
