Giants' Joe Judge reportedly still safe, could have new offensive staff

New York Giants fans may feel that no news is bad news in this scenario. 

On Friday, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reiterated a previous story and said that much-maligned Giants general manager Dave Gettleman will be allowed to "retire" rather than be fired at some point shortly after Sunday's regular-season finale against the Washington Football Team. Additionally, Vacchiano says Joe Judge will keep his job into the offseason despite carrying an overall record of 10-22 as Giants head coach into the weekend. 

The Giants have thus far gone 19-45 during Gettleman's woeful tenure. 

Similar to before, Vacchiano notes that "there is no indication from anyone that Giants co-owner John Mara’s faith in Judge or his commitment to his long-term plan has wavered" even though Big Blue has suffered three embarrassing blowout losses since the initial report about Judge's status that was shared before Christmas. Judge hinted he would remain employed past "Black Monday" when he said Thursday he intended to focus on offseason challenges "first thing Monday morning." 

According to Vacchiano, ownership is expected to "push" Judge to make multiple changes to his offensive staff and hire a new offensive coordinator to take over for Freddie Kitchens, who became interim play-caller after the Giants dismissed Jason Garrett in November. 

Per ESPN stats, the Giants will enter Week 18 31st in total offense (294.2 yards) and points (15.7) per game.
