Giants legend reacts to concerning Brian Daboll reports

New York Giants legend and CBS Sports NFL analyst Tiki Barber isn't yet panicking over multiple reports, including one shared by Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News on Monday, regarding Giants head coach Brian Daboll allegedly displaying "destructive" behavior on gamedays.

"This is a results-based business, and if you don't win enough, you get fired," Barber said during Monday's edition of the WFAN "Evan and Tiki" program, per Lou DiPietro of Audacy. "I don't care how nice or kind or whatever you are. You get fired. The guys who are not here and who are probably talking poorly about Brian Daboll deserve not to be here. So, if you're gonna take those complaints and use them as, 'He's mean,' sorry, I'll be mean then, right? I want my coach to hold people in those situations accountable. If not, stop being soft, do your job or get out."

Daboll’s supposed temper and in-game outbursts reportedly resulted in defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale "mutually" agreeing to part ways with the Giants roughly 12 months after the two men helped the club earn a road playoff victory.

Additionally, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reported for a piece published on Jan. 4 that there had "been rumblings" claiming that offensive coordinator Mike Kafka could also want to leave Daboll’s staff this winter.

Kafka has attracted interest from teams looking for new head coaches for a second straight offseason.

Barber indicated his history in the NFL leads him to believe anybody bashing Daboll to media members is either no longer with the Giants or knows he'll soon be working elsewhere.

"Why would you say something like that if you were still in the building? That doesn’t make sense," Barber explained. "It’s 2024. You’re going to get found out. Trust me."

As of late last week, the Giants remained set on moving forward with Daboll as their head coach even though big names such as Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel are available free agents. Daboll may want to spend some time before the new league year opens in March locating sources for such informational leaks assuming those leaks are still associated with the Giants.
