Cam Skattebo has rushed for 294 yards and one touchdown on 81 carries through five games this season. The New York Giants running back also has fumbled four times, and his role in the backfield is expected to shrink after those miscues, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
Raanan reported Sunday that the Giants are expected to change their running back rotation moving forward. Najee Harris is likely to take on a larger role, while Skattebo’s role is downgraded while remaining part of the mix.
All four backs, including Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary, are expected to be active against the New Orleans Saints.
Expectation is there will be a change to the Giants RB rotation, per sources. Najee Harris is likely to have a larger role with Cam Skattebo downgraded but still part of the mix after the fumbles.

All 4 RBs (Harris, Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary) should be active.
Skattebo has been struggling to hold onto the ball in four of the five games played this season. The exception came in a 36-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals on October 4. His most recent fumble came in a 27-27 overtime tie at Commanders Field against the Washington Commanders on Oct. 11, when he carried 13 times for 59 yards.
The Giants hold a 3-1-1 record entering Sunday’s game against the Saints. Skattebo has played in 65 percent of the team’s offensive snaps and is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. Despite the low numbers, he makes plays off of receiving with 7.9 yards per reception.
Harris has made an appearance in four games this season, with 97 yards on 27 carries. His biggest contribution came in a 12-7 win over the Tennessee Titans on September 27, where he rushed for 52 yards on nine carries.
