The New York Giants are heading into the offseason looking to revamp their roster after posting one of the worst records in franchise history.
New York finished the season with a 3-14 record, winning just one game at MetLife Stadium.
As the Giants look to make the necessary improvements to establish themselves as a contender in the NFC, they made an interesting coaching move.
On Monday, the Giants hired Ladell Betts as the team's newest running backs coach, per Dan Duggan. Betts leaves for the NFL after serving as the Iowa Hawkeyes' running backs coach from 2021 to 2024.
The Giants are hiring Ladell Betts as their RB coach, per sources. Betts had been the Iowa RB coach since 2021. He played in the NFL from 2002-10 for Washington and New Orleans.

Betts' role with the Giants will be the first time he enters the NFL landscape as a coach. He began his coaching career in 2013 at Coral Springs Christian Academy.
After a few roles at the high school level, Betts made the leap to Iowa and is now on the Giants staff, coaching under head coach Brian Daboll.
Daboll has been the head coach in New York since 2022 and currently boasts an 18-32 record with the organization.
Before his time on the sideline, Betts competed in the NFL as a running back for the Washington Commanders (2002 to 2009) and New Orleans Saints (2010).
He was originally drafted out of Iowa as a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
