The New York Giants have already confirmed that Jaxson Dart will miss a second straight game on Sunday. The rookie quarterback will be sidelined again as the Giants face the Detroit Lions on the road for a Week 12 matchup.

Dart has yet to be cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol following his head injury in New York’s Week 10 loss to the Chicago Bears. The former Ole Miss Rebels star has been working his way back, but he will be forced to miss at least one more game before he’s able to return to action.

Jameis Winston will start at center for the Giants on Sunday, with 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson serving as his backup.

Dart has been one of the few bright spots in New York amid another forgettable campaign. In nine games played thus far, the No. 25 overall pick of the 2025 NLF Draft has registered 128-of-204 completed passes for 1,417 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Giants, however, remain at the bottom of the NFC East with a 2-9 record.

On Friday, Dart took to social media to send a message about a recent personal decision. This involves the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative, in which players across the league promote their causes by wearing custom cleats on gameday.

Dart’s chosen cause is Utah Parent Center. The Kaysville, Utah native shed light on his decision to support the non-profit organization.

“UPC. Assisting families who have children with special needs or non typical life changes Y’all are the real Superhero’s!❤️” he posted on Instagram.

As indicated in Dart’s post, UPC is a Murray, Utah-based non-profit dedicated to helping parents assist their kids with disabilities and special healthcare needs. The Giants QB’s teal blue cleats bear the UPC logo on each toe.

Dart, however, will not be able to take the field with his UPC-dedicated cleats on Sunday. His next chance to do so will be on Dec. 1, when the Giants return to action against the New England Patriots for a Week 13 matchup. However, Dart will need to be cleared from the concussion protocol first before he is given the green light to return to action.
