During Russell Wilson's introductory press conference with the New York Giants earlier this spring, the 10-time Pro Bowler, unprovoked, praised former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt.
"I talked to Jalin Hyatt today a little bit, too," said Wilson at his introductory press conference. "I just think he's a guy that's been untapped in terms of what he knows he's capable of."
On Thursday, after a Giants OTA session, Wilson once again praised Hyatt despite not being asked about the former Vol.
"I think Jalin Hyatt, you know, he's a guy who I really believe in," said Wilson.
Wilson's comments about Hyatt aren't just lip service -- the veteran quarterback is truly investing in the former Vol.
Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown revealed on Thursday that Wilson even invited Hyatt to Los Angeles this offseason so the duo could work out together as teammates.
Interesting nugget assistant GM Brandon Brown just dropped: Russell Wilson invited Jalin Hyatt to come out to Los Angeles and work out together as teammates. First time I heard about that “secret” workout #NYGiants pic.twitter.com/WGY2zf9zT7

That work appears to be paying off already.

Hyatt, who is entering his third season with the Giants, was an afterthought in New York's offense last season after showing promise as a rookie. If Hyatt, though, develops a solid connection with Wilson, this could end up being the South Carolina native's breakout season in the NFL.
