Tommy DeVito became the lone remnant in the New York Giants' quarterback room after some major changes over the last few months. It started midseason when the team released former top-10 pick Daniel Jones, signaling a sharp turn in a new direction.
Since then, the Giants added Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson through free agency and acquired a second first-round pick in the NFL Draft to select Jaxson Dart. That sequence of events guarantees a new starter for next season but spells some concern for what DeVito's future looks like.
Regardless of how the depth chart shakes out not much will change with regard to the perception of this fan favorite. Giants supporters have gravitated toward the young quarterback and he gave them another reason last week.
Amid the surging popularity of the hit reality TV series "Love Island" DeVito joked that he and the buzzing rookie Dart have a desire to make an appearance on the show.
"Me and Jaxson might go on 'Love Island,'" Tommy DeVito told reporters. "We've talked about it so we really don't know what's about to happen."

"I can't say we [watch] it every night," DeVito added. "But from time to time, if we get an off day, we watch it and talk about it."
An unexpected bonding activity brought a few laughs from reporters and DeVito himself. Reality TV interests aside from the pair of handsome young play callers, Dart's prospects are soaring.
"He's done excellent picking up information," head coach Brian Daboll said.
"He's smart, aggressive with the football, which I like. And then the true test will be once we start with live hitting and preseason games and things like that. He's progressed since he's been here...He's made improvement."
The Giants will hope those improvements translate to the field once the preseason gets going. The next steps in the process come in a month when the Giants report to training camp on July 22.
