Giants RB Cam Skattebo Announces Personal Update Amid NFL Absence

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was having a phenomenal start to his NFL career early in the 2025 season. Through eight games, Skattebo totaled 101 carries for 410 yards and five touchdowns. He took over as the team's starter in the backfield after Tyrone Tracy Jr. suffered an injury in Week 3.

Skattebo was a fourth round-pick of the Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft after an incredible senior year with the Arizona State Sun Devils. In 2024, he had 293 rushes for 1,711 yards and 21 scores en route to finishing fifth in Heisman Trophy balloting.

His rookie season came to an unceremonious end when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 26.

Since his injury, Skattebo has been active on social media, rooting for his fellow rookie teammate Jaxson Dart and the rest of the Giants, who are off to a 2-8 start to the season, including a 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

After Sunday's game, Skattebo posted on his Instagram story, announcing he would be streaming live on Twitch.

"Lock in chat going live at 840!!!!" he wrote.

The 23-year-old stole the hearts of Giants fans who had hoped to see the dynamic rookie duo of Skattebo and Dart play out the 2025 season together in New York's backfield.

However, after Skattebo's injury, combined with Dart's up-and-down year, that hope for Giants fans will have to wait until at least the start of the 2026 season.

Dart, who was taken out of Sunday's game with a concussion, will look to get the Giants back on track if he can play against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium on Fox.
