New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo experienced a rookie season cut short by injury. Selected in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Arizona State, Skattebo quickly carved out a role in the Giants’ offense.
Through eight games, he recorded 101 carries for 410 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, while adding 24 receptions for 207 yards and two receiving touchdowns in his debut season. His physical running style and versatility stood out, especially during a three-touchdown performance in an upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6.
That momentum came to a halt in Week 8, also against the Eagles, when Skattebo suffered a dislocated right ankle, along with a fractured fibula and ruptured ligament. The injury required surgery and ended his rookie campaign.
Since the injury, Skattebo has been increasingly active on Twitch, regularly engaging with fans through gaming and live chat appearances.
Ahead of the NFL divisional-round slate, Skattebo shared an update on X, announcing that he will not attend a livestream event in person.
“Can’t make it to Foxborough this weekend, but I’ll still be in the mix. Catch me live in chat on @EsfandTV tomorrow during the WoW Pre-Game Tavern, trust me it’s gonna be a good time. A glimpse of WoW Midnight, housing, new class changes and a bunch more,” Skattebo wrote.

Catch me live in chat on @EsfandTV tomorrow during the WoW Pre-Game Tavern, trust me it’s gonna be a good time.
A glimpse of Wow Midnight, housing, new class changes and a bunch more. #WoWCozyTavern…
The appearance is part of Esfand’s Tailgate Tour featuring World of Warcraft set to take place outside Gillette Stadium. The event will be streamed on Twitch, with the broadcast scheduled to go live at 11:20 a.m. ET, before Sunday’s AFC divisional matchup between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans.
Skattebo’s message also comes as he is adjusting to a major change on the football front. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Giants recently agreed to a five-year deal to bring in former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh as their new head coach, giving the young running back a proven leader to work under in his second season. The New York Post reported the contract was "in the ballpark" of $100 million.
