Cam Skattebo and the New York Giants came up short in Week 7, falling to 2-5 on the 2025 NFL season after a 33-32 loss to the Denver Broncos. Skattebo had another solid outing, rushing for 60 yards and adding three receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown. The Giants will now turn their attention to Week 8 as they hit the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles.
Following the loss, Skattebo was fined $15,000 for “violating concussion protocol during the evaluation of quarterback Jaxson Dart,” after he entered the blue medical tent to check on his quarterback during an examination. The Giants were also fined $200,000 for the incident, while head coach Brian Daboll received a $100,000 penalty. However, that wasn’t the only fine Skattebo received in Week 7.
With 4:56 remaining in the fourth quarter, Dart threw an interception to Broncos safety Justin Strnad, giving Denver prime field position. On the play, Skattebo attempted to block linebacker Alex Singleton but was knocked to the ground before tripping him and causing him to fall. However, no unnecessary roughness penalty was called.
Still, despite no flag being thrown, the NFL still slapped Skattebo with a $6,157 fine for "striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing," bringing his fine total for the week to $21,157. Fellow Giants running back Tyrone Tracy was also fined $5,731 for a "use of the helmet" against the Broncos.
"Cam Skattebo, who was fined $15K for the Giants’ concussion violations, also was fined $6,157 this week for “striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing” on the play below," New York Daily News' Pat Leonard wrote on X. "Giants RB Tyron Tracy Jr. was fined $5,731 for “use of the helmet” on his first carry."
