Giants Rookie QB Jaxson Dart Impresses at OTAs in Video Going Viral

The New York Giants drafted Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with pick No. 25 in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. ... and while he’s expected to open his rookie season backing up veteran Russell Wilson, Dart is already making his presence known at OTAs.

Dart, for instance, per a video going viral (see below) displayed perfect timing and rhythm on a beautifully thrown ball to undrafted free agent Antwane “Juice” Well for a touchdown.

Sure, as Allen Iverson famously reminded us, we’re talking about practice—but Dart is already displaying some traits that give the Giants plenty of reason to be excited about their future at quarterback.

Coming out of the draft, Dart was seen as a raw prospect who would need time to develop. To the scouts? He has the ability to beat man coverage when making predetermined throws, but he doesn’t have the arm strength to throw an effective deep ball.

The 6-2, 225-pound signal caller was a three-year SEC starter and thrived in head coach Lane Kiffin’s quarterback friendly offensive scheme.

“Well, that's four years of playing,” Kiffin said. “You know, sometimes these guys don't play very much cause they come out early–maybe they'll only have a year or two of starting.

“So three years starting [at Ole Miss], started a couple games as a freshman at USC–he's been in a lot of big games here the last few years and performed really well.

"He's had some really good coaching with Charlie Weiss Jr. as his coordinator and now (former Giants head coach) Joe Judge, his quarterback coach this last year. So I think that helps with the jump.”
