With all of the flack that veteran quarterback Russell Wilson has been getting over the last few seasons, playing football has most likely not been as fun for him as it used to be.

But now that he is with the New York Giants, it seems that things may have changed for Wilson.

The 36-year-old field general recently spoke with the media, and he talked a bit about how fun his time in New York has already been with his new teammates.

"Man, it's been a joy," Wilson said. "I think if I had to describe it, just the joy to be able to do what I love to do, number one – and number two, to do it with the people that you really want to be around... Just being here and the extra time that we've put in watching film, doing all the necessary things to be great. I think that's been the joy of it, man. That's why you love the game, the obsession of it all. That's the good part."

Giants backup quarterback Jameis Winston recently gave the team a new motto of "more giggles, more laughter, more fun," and that seems to be the case so far for Wilson in the Big Apple.

The Giants were dead last in the NFC East in 2024 with a 3-14 record, but Winston also said that this team does not have the look of that kind of team. Wilson finished this past season with 16 touchdowns on just five interceptions with the Pittsburgh Steelers, so he showed that he can still get the job done.

New York has only made the playoffs twice in the last 10 seasons, so Wilson and Winston will be looking to help lead the team back to the postseason.
