Giants Safety Jason Pinnock to Miss Game vs. Eagles
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Safety Jason Pinnock has been declared out of Sunday's Week 18 regular-season finale between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed.

Pinnock, who was not present during the part of Friday's practice open to the media, suffered a foot injury in the first quarter of last week's 26-25 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was replaced by second-year man Dane Belton, who had a big day, recording two interceptions, two pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.

Belton, who played 46 snaps against the Rams (31 at free safety), finished as PFF's second-best Giants defender in that game, just behind interior defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence.

Daboll confirmed that Belton, who was excused from Thursday's practice for personal reasons but who returned on Friday, will get the start instead of Pinnock.

The Giants also listed cornerback Deonte Banks (shoulder) as doubtful for Sunday and center center John Michael Schmitz (shin) as questionable.

Banks, who missed last week's game against the Rams, has also been limited at practice the last two days. Banks's 84.7 coverage rating is the best among Giants cornerbacks this season who have played in at least 150 coverage snaps.

Schmitz was leg-whipped in the loss against the Rams but did not miss any snaps. He was limited in Thursday's and Friday's practices.

Both Schmitz and Banks were limited participants in Friday's practice.
