Giants warned about John Harbaugh's 'old-school' approach

The New York Giants have needed something good to happen to this franchise for a long time. That happened for them after last season. They hired one of the most prominent coaches of the modern era in John Harbaugh.

Lucky team. But, Harbaugh comes with an old-school approach to coaching.

When you're a coach for 18 seasons, you're going to have history. You're going to remember the way things used to be done. That's Harbaugh. He has a classic style of coaching, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it may cause some friction.

ESPN has a new feature out, which is a training-camp preview for all 32 NFL teams. In it, they talk about Harbaugh.

Classic is good. Who doesn't love classic rock or classic metal? But, in football, it's something to watch out for, too.

Jordan Raanan of ESPN wonders how the Giants will handle increased expectations and their new coach.

"With new schemes offensively and defensively, it might not look so promising right away. How will the organization handle that? The increased workload will also be something to watch, especially when Harbaugh is known as an old-school coach who runs one of the league's harder training camps," Raanan writes.

Harbaugh is expected to work wonders with quarterback Jaxson Dart and the Giants offense. There's no reason he can't. But how he does it is worth keeping an eye on.
