Gold pants to return for the Commanders in 2024

The Washington Commanders are bringing back one of their classic uniform combinations for the 2024 season.

The team announced on social media that its game-day uniform rotation will include its signature gold pants for the first time since the 2018 season.

Washington broke the news to as it celebrates the 92nd anniversary of the organization's founding. Throughout its history, the gold pants capped off the team's iconic ensemble.

The franchise wore gold pants until the 1978 season, when the team opted to wear burgundy or white pants. The signature gold pants would not make an appearance again until the 1994 season and would appear sparingly in the years throughout.

The gold pants regained their status as a consistent member of the uniform rotation in 2010 and remained until 2018.

The Commanders' full home-jersey schedule is set to be released at a later date.
