Grading every Lions 2025 draft pick (with 1 bold prediction for each)

Even though the Detroit Lions weren't armed with a ton of premium capital in the 2025 NFL Draft, Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes managed to come away with multiple players that should be long-term contributors for this team.

With holes on the interior defensive line, the right guard spot, and lower ends of the wide receiver room, Holmes moved all around the draft boards to grab players he believes can aid in a championship push.

Looking at each and every pick the Lions made shows more of Holmes' cavalier style, as he took some big risks that could end with him hitting a proverbial jackpot.

Grading every Detroit Lions 2025 NFL Draft pick

Round 1, Pick 28: Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State

While there were other more popular options available for Campbell and the Lions, Williams's exceptional ability to plug up holes in the running game should make him the type of high-floor player this coaching staff can lean on after a ton of defensive turnovers.

Prediction: Williams starts in Week 1 and ends up making the All-Rookie team: Grade: B

Round 2, Pick 57: Tate Ratledge, OG, Georgia

Here's your Kevin Zeitler replacement. Ratledge backed up some dominant run-blocking tape with the RAS score that Holmes wanted to see, which could help him instantly slot into Zeitler's right guard spot and keep this Lions offensive line elite.

Prediction: Ratledge starts right away at right guard, getting a higher PFF grade than Zeitler's 2024 and 2025 marks. Grade: A

Round 3, Pick 70: Isaac TeSlaa, WR, Arkansas

TeSlaa has speed and strength numbers that will knock your socks off, but he was the WR2 in an average passing offense and mustered just 28 catches last year. This is a pure traits gamble, and Detroit passed on better receivers to land him.

Prediction: By the end of the season, TeSlaa overtakes Tim Patrick on the depth chart and becomes WR3: Grade: C

Round 5, Pick 171: Miles Frazier, OG, LSU

Frazier was a tremendous value pick who reinforces Detroit's status as one of the best offensive lines in the league. Frazier was one of the more exemplary pass-protecting guards in this class, which made this pick even more of a steal for Jared Goff and the Lions.

Prediction: Frazier ends up pushing Glasgow for snaps at left guard and becomes the starter at that spot in 2026. Grade: A-

Round 6, Pick 196: Ahmed Hassanein, EDGE, Boise State

Hassanein was born to play for Dan Campbel. Even with less-than-amazing athletic testing numbers, the versatile Hassanein is a grinder that can provide solid performances at multiple spots of Kelvin Sheppard's unit.

Prediction: Hassanein has the most sacks of any edge rusher picked on Day 3 as a rookie. Grade: B+

Round 7, Pick 230: Dan Jackson, SAF, Georgia

The fact Jackson was not invited to the NFL Combine is a shame. Jackson one an emotional leader on one of the country's best defenses, and his should be able to put his same great tackling skills to use in Detroit's defense.

Prediction: Jackson gets more defensive snaps than both Avonte Maddox and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. Grade: A-

Round 7, Pick 244, Dominic Lovett, WR, Georgia

The last of three Bulldogs Holmes drafted this year, Lovett's reliable hands over the middle could be all he needs to make Kalif Raymond sweat as he tries to work his way into the slot rotation.

Prediction: Lovett makes the final 53-man roster: Grade: B-
