Green Bay Packers Bolster Pass Rush In 2025 NFL Mock Draft

With the 2024 NFL Draft finished, the Green Bay Packers will be thinking about the 2025 NFL Draft before you know it.

After what looks like a successful 2024 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers are optimistic about what’s to come for this season. After a quick retool post-Aaron Rodgers, the Packers could very well be a contender in the NFC this season after surprising many last year.

While the players and coaches will be focused on the 2024 season, the front office will have to be thinking about the future. In a recent ESPN article, they wrote about what the 2025 NFL Draft might look like. With the Packers projected to be a strong team, they will likely be picking toward the end of the first round.

In the mock draft, ESPN had the Packers selecting JT Tuimoloau from Ohio State. Here’s what they had to say about the reasoning behind the pick.

The cap number for Preston Smith jumps to $17.5 million in 2025, which means Green Bay might have to make a decision on him. The Packers have focused on adding young depth alongside him with Lukas Van Ness and Kingsley Enagbare, and Tuimoloau could be next. Tuimoloau likely would have been an early Day 2 selection had he come out this year. Fierce against the run, he routinely sets a firm edge, but his consistency as a pass-rusher can still improve.

This certainly seems like a logical selection for the Packers, who heavily invested in their secondary in the 2024 NFL Draft. With a franchise quarterback already in place with Jordan Love and some young weapons on offense surrounding him, the Packers getting younger on the defensive side of the ball makes sense.

While the 2025 NFL Draft is a year away, it is always important to keep an eye on prospects like Tuimoloau. While prospect rankings will change as the college season goes on, this does appear to be a deep draft on the defensive side of the ball.
