Green Bay Packers Gave Him a Shoutout—Matthew Golden Gave Them 5 Words
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love's Gesture to Matthew Golden Says It All About Budding Chemistry 1 Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden (22) misses the ball during the team’s first day of minicamp on June 10, 2025, at Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wis.

Matthew Golden has been enjoying plenty of attention at training camp, seemingly living up to the hype that comes with being the first wide receiver selected by the team in the first round of an NFL draft in over two decades.

If he continues to shine in the offseason and put up solid performances in the regular season, he could end up as the top downfield option for Green Bay’s Jordan Love-led passing attack.

There is still a learning curve in the pros that Golden will have to go through, but there is no denying his immense potential to become a legitimately dangerous playmaker for the Packers, who had one of the most prolific offenses in the league in 2024.

During his final season in college, the speedy Golden came away with 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 58 catches across 16 games for the Texas Longhorns in 2024.

Packers rookie appreciates Green Bay Packers’ birthday greeting

Golden turned 22 years old on Friday, and got a heartwarming greeting from the Packers.

“It may not be his golden birthday, but he sure is GOLDEN,” Green Bay’s post on Instagram read.

Golden acknowledged the Packers’ message, as he reshared the post and captioned it with “More life. Thank you God.”

Golden can expect more happy celebrations with the Packers, especially if Green Bay flourishes in the coming 2025 NFL season.

The Packers are coming off an 11-win campaign that secured them a ticket to the NFL playoffs. They lost to the eventual Super Bowl winners Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Wild Card Round, but the Packers are still regarded as a true contender for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
