Aaron Rodgers’ decision to take his talents to the Pittsburgh Steelers is full of intrigue. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback is coming off a two-season stint with the New York Jets, who never made the NFL playoffs during his time in Queens and won just five times in the 2024 campaign.

With the Steelers, Rodgers joins a squad that has been in the postseason in each of the last two seasons, though neither trip went beyond the wild-card round.

Rodgers is still believed to be a capable quarterback. He will be turning 42 years old in December, but the Steelers are hoping that there is one more great season left for the future Pro Football Hall of Famer signal-caller.

The Steelers had Justin Fields and Russell Wilson in the quarterback room last season, but both are no longer on the team. Fields succeeds Rodgers under center for the Jets while Wilson has signed a contract with the New York Giants.

While sharing his thoughts about the massive contract that linebacker TJ Watt inked with the Steelers, former Pittsburgh pass rusher James Harrison also touched on the subject of Rodgers joining the AFC North squad

Via TMZ Sports:

Harrison also told us he was a big fan of the Steelers grabbing Aaron Rodgers in free agency — calling it “a good move.”

As for a prediction for Pitt’s win-loss record in 2025, Harrison didn’t have one … but it’s clear he believes with Rodgers and Watt in the fold, they’ve got as good a shot as anyone at a deep playoff run.
