Ronika Stone Love, the wife of Green Bay Packers star quarterback Jordan Love, has always shown support for him. So it was not a big surprise that she reacted the way she did in a post about her husband’s story on The Player’s Tribune.
Ronika, who, like her husband, is a professional athlete, shared a social media post via Instagram. It features a clip of Love telling a personal story about his dad, Orbin, who passed away when he was just 14 years old.
Ronika captioned the post with a smiling face with tears and heart-hand emojis ().
Jordan Love’s dad passed away before he became a college football star for the Utah State Aggies and before he was drafted by the Packers in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.
Still, Love keeps his father’s memory intact, always using him as an inspiration on and off the field.
In his The Player’s Tribune story, Love shared some of his best memories with his dad when he was growing up.
When I say my dad taught me everything, I really mean everything. We’d be out in the yard from the time I could walk — no, really from the time I could stand. Football, basketball, every sport imaginable. There’s a picture of me from when I was a baby and my dad is putting me up on a race horse. I’m like one, in my diaper, and I’m chilling up on some Secretariat-looking dude.
Love also revealed that his dad wanted to name him after Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan, but his mom gave that idea a thumbs down.
Entering his fifth season in the NFL and third as the Packers’ full-time quarterback, Love will look to continue honoring his dad with his play on the field, as Green Bay aims to win a Super Bowl.
