Green Bay Packers fans can have a bigger sigh of relief now that star quarterback Jordan Love has returned to the practice field on Monday.
Love left many concerned when it was announced last week that he would undergo surgery to address a thumb injury in his non-throwing hand. Although the Packers did not seem worried about his availability for the team’s 2025 NFL season opener, it was still not a very ideal news for Green Bay.
In any case, Love seems like he’s on track to play against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field in Week 1 of the upcoming campaign. Just don’t expect him to see action in the field in the Packers’ 2025 NFL preseason finale on Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks at home.
Packers quarterback Malik Willis welcomed Love’s return from the thumb surgery, pulling up a literary reference to express his feelings about it.

Grateful for the extra work, Willis also was happy to see No. 10 back on the practice field with the Packers’ three other QBs on Monday.
“It was cool. It was like the four Musketeers back together, just rolling,” Willis said.
Willis is likely going to start under center against the Seahawks. He threw for 83 passing yards on 6-of-14 completions in last week’s 23-19 win over the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. Taylor Elgersma and Sean Clifford, who saw snaps as well in the Colts game, should get some playtime on the field in the upcoming meeting with the visiting Seattle side.
