The Green Bay Packers didn’t have the most ideal of ways to start their 2025 NFL preseason campaign, as they got thrashed by the New York Jets at Lambeau Field on Sunday, 30-10.

Jordan Love and Green Bay’s starters didn’t see much action on the field, hopping onto the field for just a couple of series. Love completed just one of his seven throws for seven passing yards before the Packers let three backups split the work under center.

Losing a preseason game doesn’t mean the end of the world for the Packers, but getting blasted by a visiting team for 20 points isn’t inspiring either for Green Bay, which is looking to surpass the 11 wins it collected in the 2024 NFL season.

In any case, the Packers must have learned a lot from their mistakes and shortcomings in the loss to Justin Fields and the Jets.

After the blowout defeat at the hands of New York, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur did not hold back on his thoughts on his team and the effort Green Bay put forth.

“Well that was a humbling experience,” LaFleur said, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN. “Definitely not what we want to put out there. I don’t care preseason, regular season, it doesn’t matter to me. It was just sloppy football. Too many penalties, drops, missed tackles, bad decision making, and it really showed up in every phase of football. And if you do that, you’re going to get your ass kicked, and that’s exactly what happened.”

The Packers racked up just 188 total yards while allowing the Jets to produce 403 total yards. Green Bay also committed two turnovers and only had possession of the ball for roughly 22 minutes. New York, on the other hand, controlled the ball for almost 39 minutes.
