Green Bay Packers: Players Rally Around Teammate After Matt LaFleur Outburst 1 Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur watches practice during the sixth day of training camp on July 29, 2025, at Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wis.

The Green Bay Packers held their annual Family Night on Saturday, giving fans a live look at how the team practices and prepares for the upcoming 2025 NFL season, which is just weeks away.

Of course, many turned their attention to the bigger stars like quarterback Jordan Love, running back Josh Jacobs and fast-rising rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden. But the defense also turned lots of heads, particularly defensive back Omar Brown.

The 24-year-old strong safety, who is behind Evan Williams and Zayne Anderson on the depth chart, added to his case to make the Packers’ final 53-man cut. During Saturday’s practice session, Brown secured a total of three interceptions. He picked off backup quarterback Malik Willis twice and No. 3 QB Sean Clifford once.

A product of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football program, Brown went undrafted in the 2024 NFL draft before getting signed to a contract by the Denver Broncos. However, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur shared that Green Bay had interest in Brown even before the NFL draft last year.

Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN:

LaFleur pointed out that the Packers had been on Brown for a while starting with a pre-draft visit in the spring of 2024. Brown originally signed with “Denver as a UDFA and came here end of last August.”

The Packers signed him to their practice squad in August of 2024 but it was only in December when he finally got to make his NFL debut when Green bay faced off against the New Orleans Saints, seeing action for just 14.3 percent of defensive snaps and 28.6 percent of special teams snaps in that contest.
