The Green Bay Packers‘ matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 26 at Acrisure Stadium will be one of the most hyped NFL games on the 2025 schedule after Aaron Rodgers officially signed with the Steelers on Saturday.
The fall contest will be the first time Rodgers has played against the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2005 draft since the Packers traded him to the New York Jets in the 2023 offseason.
The trade worked out for Green Bay. Quarterback Jordan Love has led the team to two playoff appearances since Rodgers left.
Per Jason Wilde of Channel 3000, Love said Friday that he was thankful for the grace Rodgers showed him when the Packers selected him in the first round of the 2020 draft to eventually replace No. 12. Love knows that Rodgers worked hard not to continue the cycle Brett Favre started when he didn’t want to teach Rodgers.
Because Rodgers was kind to Love while he was in Green Bay, there won’t be betterness between the two quarterbacks in October.
Love has one request from Rodgers. He wants to have a jersey exchange following the game.
“It’s going to be fun,” Love said of playing Rodgers this season. “It’s going to be awesome. I’m excited for it. I can’t wait to be on different sides, meeting up, and I know we’ll talk pre-game, things like that. And hopefully we can exchange jerseys after.”
I’m sure Packers fans would love to see pictures of Love in a black and gold jersey.
Love wasn’t too surprised Rodgers joined the Steelers, as the rumors had pointed in that direction for months.
