Cole Schneider is getting another chance with the Green Bay Packers. The offensive lineman has agreed to terms with the team after a workout, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2.

Schneider was a member of the Packers during last year’s training camp but was waived after sustaining an injury. He signed with the team as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft.

Schneider spent time with the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions most recently. Terms of his agreement with the Packers was not known at the time of the initial report.

Schneider attended UCF, where he played in 47 career games over four seasons. He spent 46 of those contests at guard. He was an All-AAC selection in each of the four years he took the field in Orlando.

Schneider did not allow a sack during his senior season at UCF.

Packers enter 2023 season with mixed expectations

The expectations for Green Bay entering 2023 is a bit of a mixed bag. Mostly, people believe this will be a rebuilding year for the Packers because of the departure of Aaron Rodgers, among other players.

Offensive tackle David Bakhtiari said the team’s new look brings about a fresh excitement for the upcoming season.

“It’s a big question mark,” Bakhtiari said, via Ryan Wood of USA Today. “There’s a lot of guys who haven’t played a lot of football. It’s a new look, and that’s exciting. Because you don’t really know what to expect. When teams scout us… how much film are they looking at?”

Green Bay needs Bakhtiari healthy in order to find success in the 2023 season, especially with so many departures. He says he’s ready to go this fall.

“I feel good,” Bakhtiari said, via Packers Wire. “Not going to be a fortune teller or anything…but the team and I understand what we need to do. We’re on the same page. Trust is a big thing, and then, finally having an offseason of not having surgeries, the ability to let everything kind of calm down, settle in, train, put on muscle, protect the knee. I’m very grateful and thankful for where I’m at and I’m just excited to see what happens. Football is football, it’s not the healthiest thing in the world, so we’ll see when we get out there.”

It’s going to be interesting to see how the new-look Packers look in the 2023 NFL season.
