Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson Reveals Shocking Reason For Injury Issues
Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers enter the 2024 NFL season with a lot of reasons to be excited. From Jordan Love to the dynamic weapons he has to work with, everything is pointing up for the franchise. However, there has been one massive question lingering over the franchise from the wide receiver position.

Christian Watson, the team’s high second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has dealt with numerous hamstring injuries throughout his young career. He missed most of the 2023 season due to those issues.

Thankfully, the Packers and Watson addressed the injury issues this offseason. They had him meet with specialists to figure out what is going on with the hamstring. He now has some answers.

Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson Reveals Shocking Reason For Injury Issues

Watson opened up about what he’s found out this offseason during a quote, shared by ESPN Green Bay Packers’ reporter Rob Demosvky. It turns out that the injury issues have been cause due to a symmetry issue in his legs.

“For me, it really was the asymmetry between the legs. It comes from a lot of things. Obviously, the issues I’ve had in the past with hamstrings, not fully recovering from those strength-wise. I’ve been attacking the strength side of it, trying to get that symmetry back and it’s been huge for me. I feel really, really good. I gotta continue grinding at it.”

Needless to say, that is great news to hear for the Packers and their fans. If Watson has figured out why his hamstring has been causing him so much grief, he could be able to stay healthy for the 2024 campaign.

Jordan Love wants to see his No. 1 receiver stay healthy, and he talked about how important it is to have Watson on the field.

“That’s the key, is trying to stay healthy throughout the season, so we can have him out there every game, which is something I know he’s working hard on. He’s a difference-maker when he’s out there. He’s a playmaker. Just having all our weapons out there is key.”

Watson has had an up-and-down first two years with the Green Bay Packers. At times, he has shown true star potential. Other times, he has been unable to play football.

Throughout his first two NFL seasons, Watson has ended up catching 69 passes for 1,033 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has elite speed and a great body at 6-foot-4 and a shade over 200 pounds. Green Bay needs their top wideout to get back on the field and stay on it.

If he’s able to stay healthy, the Green Bay Packers’ offense is going to be even more dangerous. Hopefully, they have truly figured out what’s going on with Watson and are able to fix the issue.
