Greg Dulcich Leads Miami Dolphins in Receiving vs. Jets

Miami Dolphins tight end Greg Dulcich got off to a pretty slow start to the season. He made little receiving impact in the first two weeks of the campaign, but he’s found his footing since then and is on the heels of his defining showing of the season.

Although rookie wideout Caleb Douglas returned to the field and balled out with 70 receiving yards, Dulcich still led the team in that stat. His impact on the Dolphins’ passing game was apparent and seismic, and Dulcich seems to have become a more important part of it before our very eyes.

Dulcich finished Sunday’s win over the New York Jets with 86 receiving yards on five targets and five receptions, with his longest catch for 32 yards. He consistently found openings in New York’s defense throughout the first half and gave quarterback Malik Willis a reliable target.

Thanks largely to his effort, the Dolphins entered halftime with a commanding 21-7 lead. After all, every one of his 86 receiving yards came in the opening half, including his 32-yard reception that set up the Dolphins in the red zone. He also provided crucial third-down conversions, keeping their possessions going and helping them maintain their lead.

Sunday might be Dulcich’s best game of the season so far, but it’s also his third straight standout game, and he’s been noticeably more involved in the Dolphins’ offense in recent weeks. After all, he’s recorded at least four receptions in each of the last three contests, and if he keeps this level of play up, he’ll soon solidify himself as a top cog in the team’s offense, if he hasn’t already.
