HBO releases first trailer for Chargers, Rams 'Hard Knocks'

HBO released the first trailer for the L.A. season of "Hard Knocks," featuring the Rams and the Chargers as they hope to begin their first season in the brand new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

The trailer consists of practice footage that presumably comes from last season, with coaches Sean McVay and Anthony Lynn featured among the teams' best players, including Aaron Donald, Keenan Allen and Jared Goff. With both teams still trying to establish their fan bases in their relatively new home city, the trailer naturally plays with the "Battle for L.A." narrative. At this point, most would agree that the Rams have a firm lead over the Chargers in that department.

The trailer promises to give an inside look that has made "Hard Knocks" a phenomenon in the first place. Of course, all of this depends on whether or not a season happens at all. Currently, the NFL is planning to start on time, but the lack of transparency has raised concerns among players, who publicly criticized the league on Twitter.

If the season is able to be played, this may prove to be the most unique and entertaining season of "Hard Knocks" yet. After all, trying to put together a full NFL season in the midst of a global pandemic is entirely unprecedented and could prove to be inspiring or disastrous.

"Hard Knocks: Los Angeles" is set to premiere on HBO on Aug. 11. Is that timeline realistic, or will it be delayed? We're all going to have to tune in to find out.
