HC Matt LaFleur: Packers 'definitely need to get some speed' at WR

The Green Bay Packers kept quarterback Aaron Rodgers via a massive contract extension but then traded All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and lost targets Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in free agency.

As things stand today, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are currently atop Green Bay's depth chart at the receiver position. Per Rob Demovsky and Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur touched upon what's become a weak portion of his squad while speaking with reporters at the league's annual meetings on Tuesday.

"Certainly, if you look at our roster right now, we definitely need to get some speed in that room," LaFleur admitted. "We need a legit guy that can take off the top of the coverage. We lost a guy that was pretty good at doing that."

According to Kevin Patra of the league's website, the Packers now possess two first-round picks and two second-round picks in next month's draft. As of Tuesday, five different CBS Sports analysts were predicting in mock drafts Green Bay will use at least one first-round asset to select a receiver come April 28.

"It's like putting a puzzle together; you've got to find those pieces that you're missing and put it all together," LaFleur added. "How that's going to look in the end? I have no idea right now."
