Here's how the Patrick Mahomes injury is impacting Super Bowl odds

There was bound to be a shakeup in the Super Bowl odds after a topsy-turvy weekend of divisional matchups. But there may be no event that has shaken up the odds more than Patrick Mahomes' first-half injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the perennial favorites to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy since the start of the 2022 NFL season. And with the Buffalo Bills getting the boot by Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, you would think the Chiefs would be the de facto top dog.

But that wasn't the case come Monday morning, as the Philadelphia Eagles surpassed the Chiefs as the new favorite at +250 odds at DraftKings -- no doubt because Mahomes sustained a high ankle sprain and, despite still pulling off the win, was noticeably in pain as he hobbled on and off the field.

KC still manages to be the next favorite to win it all though, listed at +260 after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 despite Mahomes playing most of the game with one good leg.

The Eagles are an obvious choice to become the new favorite after Jalen Hurts and company walloped the New York Giants 38-7 on Saturday night. Burrow and the Bengals are listed after the Chiefs at +275 after bumping off the Bills, and the San Francisco 49ers clock in as the +330 underdogs after an ugly 19-12 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
