Here's what mock drafts are saying the Cleveland Browns should do with their first pick in the NFL Draft
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

We are past the thick of NFL free agency and now waiting on the draft that will take place at the end of this month. The Cleveland Browns have been decently active in free agency, bringing in quite a few names.

Attention should now be turning to the draft, where they will hold five selections. With just five picks scheduled, a trade down at some point to get an extra pick or two is just about to be expected with GM Andrew Berry.

Are you curious to know what the Browns may do with their first pick at No. 54 in the second round? A to Z Sports has scraped 150+ mock drafts and brought together a list of the most common names being linked to the Browns. While it is no direct source, it gives an idea of what the Browns could do.

Cleveland Browns Second Round Targets

• Trey Benson, RB Florida State

• Marshawn Kneeland, DE Western Michigan

• Junior Colson, LB Michigan

• Edgerrin Cooper, LB Texas A&M

• Braden Fiske, DT Florida State

• Kiran Amegadjie, OT Yale

• Michael Hall Jr, DT Ohio State

• Bralen Trice, DE Washington

• Ja’Lynn Polk, WR Washington

• Kris Jenkins, DT Michigan

The Browns do not have a clear hole to address but they do have a couple of positions that they’re either thin at, or could use some more depth. Cleveland could go best player available from a list of positions, one would think.

Offensive line help and interior depth on the defensive line are two spots that stand out. Cleveland could add a tackle if the right player is there, or look for an eventual Joel Bitonio replacement if the value is there. On the other hand, the Browns ran it back with one-year deals at defensive tackle in free agency. Outside of Siaki Ika and Dalvin Tomlinson, they don’t have much committed after this year at the position.

Only Jerry Jeudy is under contract next year out of the Browns’ top three wideouts. If a wide receiver was to slip the Browns could look to jump on that pick.

Whatever the Browns do, they have to make the second-round pick count after not having a first-rounder once again this year. With a list of players like the one in this article, they could be on the right track.
