Bijan Robinson has quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s top running backs, earning high praise from coaches and analysts alike. An NFL coordinator recently described him as a “nightmare to prepare for,” highlighting his unique combination of size, speed, and versatility that makes him a challenge for any defense.

Robinson’s second season with the Atlanta Falcons solidified his reputation as one of the league’s premier players. After a promising rookie campaign, he elevated his game in 2024, rushing for 1,456 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns.

His ability to break tackles and contribute in the passing game has made him a cornerstone of the Falcons’ offense, earning him a top-five ranking in ESPN’s running back survey for 2025. While Robinson has been a consistent performer, some critics argue he hasn’t fully lived up to the pre-draft “hype” that surrounded him as the No. 8 overall pick in 2023.

Notably, he did not record a single rushing play of more than 40 yards last season, a surprising stat for a player known for his explosiveness in college. However, his steady production and adaptability on the field counterbalance the lack of highlight-reel plays, proving his value in a variety of situations.

Robinson just got a positive review from an anonymous NFL coordinator. This can be seen in an analysis by Jeremy Fowler for ESPN.

After spotty usage in his rookie year, Robinson earned primary back status in 2024. It’s no surprise that his game subsequently took off with 1,456 yards and 14 touchdowns on 304 carries.

Robinson entered the league with considerable expectations and has largely met them. He’s one of three players in NFL history to produce 2,400 rushing yards and 100 receptions in a player’s first two seasons, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Edgerrin James and LaDainian Tomlinson.

“Size, speed, acceleration, pass game, value, breaks tackles, can hit home runs,” an NFL coordinator said. “He’s a nightmare to prepare for.”

The Falcons’ offensive success has also benefited from the contributions of other young stars like Drake London and Kyle Pitts, creating a dynamic trio that ranks among the NFL’s top 10 offensive skill groups. Robinson’s ability to complement these players while carrying a heavy workload reflects his importance to Atlanta’s game plan. His presence provides balance to an offense still developing under quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

As Robinson enters his third season, expectations remain high for him to elevate his game further. With his physical tools and the Falcons’ evolving offensive strategy, he has the potential to exceed even the loftiest projections. Bijan Robinson is not just a running back to watch; he has become a focal point for defenses and a cornerstone for Atlanta’s future success.
