Highlights & Takeaways From Rams’ Week 7 Win Over Jaguars

After defeating the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6, the Los Angeles Rams traveled to London for a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Rams were without star wide receiver Puka Nacua and right tackle Rob Havenstein in the contest but still came away with a 35-7 victory to improve to 5-2 on the season.

It was a rainy day in London, but it only had a minimal impact on the game. Unlike last week when the Rams got off to a slow start, they scored touchdowns on each of their first two offensive drives against the Jaguars.

The first one ended with rookie Konata Mumpfield catching his first career touchdown in the NFL. The Rams’ second drive saw Davante Adams haul in his first of three touchdown catches on the day.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars offense struggled to get anything going for most of the game as they punted on each of their first three drives.

Jacksonville finally appeared to be gaining some momentum and had a chance to cut into the Rams’ lead before halftime. But kicker Cam Little missed a 50-yard field goal, and Jacksonville’s next drive ended on downs.

The Rams took a 21-0 lead into the second half but then had their own struggles on offense as their first four drives resulted in punts.

The Jaguars couldn’t take advantage, and the L.A. offense eventually woke up when Matthew Stafford found rookie Terrance Ferguson for his first career touchdown to extend the Rams’ lead to 28-0 in the fourth quarter.

Jacksonville then answered back when Trevor Lawrence connected with rookie Travis Hunter on a 34-yard touchdown, the two-way star’s first in the NFL.

But that was all for the Jaguars offense against a tough Rams defense that recorded seven sacks.

The Rams added one more touchdown for good measure when Stafford linked up again with Adams late in the fourth quarter. It was Stafford’s fifth touchdown pass and Adams’ third time finding the end zone against the Jaguars.

What’s next for the Rams…

After taking care of business against the Jaguars, the Rams will now get a much-deserved bye in the schedule before resuming play in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.

At 5-2, the Rams sit atop the NFC West standings, with the 4-2 San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks still to play in Week 7.
