Highly criticized Steelers WR makes another embarrassing decision

The Steelers (7-5) suffered arguably their most embarrassing loss of the season to the Cardinals (3-10) in Week 13. But what their wide receiver did during the game may be even more humiliating.

Pittsburgh was trailing 24-3, but with just four minutes and 25 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the offense was able to muster a drive together and score its only touchdown of the day.

It was a two-yard receiving touchdown by WR Diontae Johnson, who has been highly criticized as of late, and what he did after proves exactly why. Following just his second touchdown since the 2021 season, Johnson decided to celebrate and a long one at that.

It's not a good look for the fifth-year wide receiver just a week after he was criticized for not jumping on a fumble in a tight AFC North matchup against the Bengals. Luckily for Johnson, the Steelers were able to win a week ago. That wasn't the case this week.

Johnson's 2023 antics don't stop there either as he reportedly "got into a heated post-game locker-room argument" two weeks ago with safety Minkah Fitzpatrick where he had to be broken up by DT Cameron Heyward and LB T.J. Watt.

Head coach Mike Tomlin has dealt with his fair share of "diva" receivers in Pittsburgh, and it looks like he may have another one in Johnson.

Right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor was benched in Week 8 for "acting out." Although it's highly unlikely Johnson will be benched, it's safe to say his recent actions are similar or worse.

Tomlin must have a serious conversation with Johnson before it gets worse or the team should consider moving on from him just one season after giving him a two-year, $36.71M contract extension.
