Hot NFL Schedule Rumor Has Commanders Headed Overseas

The Dallas Cowboys get to go to Philly to open the 2025 NFL season against the defending Super Bowl champs. Some fans of the Washington Commanders might feel disrespected, but their team gets to go to ... Spain.

Lincoln Financial Field or Madrid. Who are we kidding?

While the NFL has officially announced Cowboys-Eagles as the kick-off game on Sept. 4 and the Kansas City Chiefs playing the Los Angeles Chargers Sept. 5 in Brazil, a well-respect schedule-leaker is projecting the Commanders will play the Miami Dolphins in Week 11, Nov. 16 in the first NFL game played in Spain.

Jayden Daniels vs. Tua Tagovailoa could provide some offensive fireworks in Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The Commanders and Dolphins have played each other 16 times heading into the 2025 season, with Miami leading the series, 10-6. The teams have played each other five times since 2007 and Washington has won two of those contests - the most recent coming in the form of a 17-16 win in 2019.

While marquee NFL games begin to trickle out, the NFL's full schedule will be released Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The Commanders will be looking to building on last season's surprising 12-5 record and appearance in the NFC Championship Game. This offseason Washington added protection for star quarterback Jayden Daniels in the form of free-agent left tackle Laremy Tunsil and first-round draft pick offensive lineman Josh Conerly.

The Commanders also signed receiver Deebo Samuel, while the Dolphins are dealing with more drama and a trade demand from their star, Tyreek Hill.
