The Houston Texans have made one final coaching move and decision as they are ready for the 2024 offseason and new league year to get underway. We are just a few days away from the legal tampering period, which is a few days away from the first day of free agency.
If you remember correctly, the Texans had several coaches on their 2023 staff who were wanted by other teams. Offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik was a big one, as teams interviewed him for their head coaching gig. Jerrod Johnson was another coach that the Texans were able to retain.
It is extremely important that they retain those two, as you never want your rookie quarterback going into his second year with a different offensive coordinator in a different system. The Texans have also made some other moves, like linebackers coach Bill Davis, who is replacing Chris Kiffin.
Here is the official list of the Texans 2024 coaching staff:
DeMeco Ryans Head Coach
Matt Burke Defensive Coordinator
Bobby Slowik Offensive Coordinator
Frank Ross Special Teams Coordinator
Stephen Adegoke Safeties
Sean Baker Defensive Assistant
Danny Barrett Assistant Head Coach / Running Backs
Ben Bolling Defensive Assistant
Will Burnham Assistant Special Teams
Bill Davis Linebackers
Jarrod James Offensive Assistant
Jerrod Johnson Quarterbacks
Bill Lazor Senior Offensive Assistant
Ben McDaniels Wide Receivers / Offensive Passing Game Coordinator
Ryan Milus Defensive Assistant
Jake Moreland Tight Ends
Nate Ollie Assistant Defensive Line
Cole Popovich Assistant Offensive Line
Mike Snyder Offensive Assistant
Chris Strausser Offensive Line
Cory Undlin Defensive Passing Game Coordinator
Dino Vasso Defensive Backs
Leander Wallace Offensive Quality Control

This is one heck of a coaching staff and one that is even better than last year's team.
